day eight

 Today was a busy day. I woke up early to go to the gym with my friend. After that I went to the auditorium to watch Emily's presentation. It was really cool to see all the accumulation of her work come together! After that I went back to prepare for my presentation to Mel's culture and conflict class. At 1:30 it was time for me to present. I was really nervous but it was reassuring to see some familiar faces in the audience along with my mentor John and advisor Mel. At first I was super nervous but as I started talking I got more comfortable. I was am so familiar with prosecutorial misconduct and wrongful convictions that it was easy to fill the time. I felt really good about all the work I have done to get me to this point.

Day Two

  Today I met Emily, Olivia and Kingsley at the library at 9:30, after running to Jakes for a quick iced coffee. This morning I worked on organizing my paper into different sections. The two main sections I am dividing my paper into are systematic problems and individual wrongdoing. Both of which lead to wrongful convictions of innocent people. Within these two sections there are multiple subdivisions of information that I had to organize my paper into. After working I took a short nap before heading off to tennis practice. Tomorrow I hope to finish my rough draft!

day ten

 Today I had my exit interview with the capstone committee: Derek, Heidi, Tom, and John. I was nervous at first because I wasn't sure how the interview was going to go. However, once we got started I was instantly reassured. They were really impressed with my work which made me feel really accomplished. The exit interview was the very last step in my capstone process! Tom confirmed that I passed and they asked me questions about my process. It is really cool to see everything come together and to see how my future may play out relating to my interest in criminal justice.

Day Three

 Today I woke up and met Kingsley in the dining hall to have breakfast. After that we headed to the library and grinned out our papers for a few hours. It is definitely nice to have the company of Olivia, Kingsley, and Emily who are going through the same process as me. After that I had a meeting with my capstone mentor, John, who reviewed my paper and gave me some final thoughts to consider. Then I headed back to the library to meet with Heidi who helped me with my in text citations. We had tennis practice early and after that I headed to the gym with my friends! All in all a productive day of senior project.
