Day Two

 


Today I met Emily, Olivia and Kingsley at the library at 9:30, after running to Jakes for a quick iced coffee. This morning I worked on organizing my paper into different sections. The two main sections I am dividing my paper into are systematic problems and individual wrongdoing. Both of which lead to wrongful convictions of innocent people. Within these two sections there are multiple subdivisions of information that I had to organize my paper into. After working I took a short nap before heading off to tennis practice. Tomorrow I hope to finish my rough draft!

weekly reflection

       I think that participating in the social justice concentration will really help me in college and  beyond. I learned a lot of important skills such as writing an annotated bibliography, correctly  citing sources, synthesizing my research, and supporting my claims with evidence. In college, I will have to manage my time wisely in order to get all of my work done while living even more  independently. If I were to do my concentration again I would have definitely started writing my  paper earlier. It was hard to manage being gone in the winter and having the paper due in the  spring. Therefore, I think I should have started writing this past fall. However, having to grind  this spring taught me a lot about how I work best. I learned that writing a twenty page paper is  not as daunting as it seems as long as you break it into manageable chunks. This is an important  lesson because any type of work can be broken into chunks...

Day One

  Today I got a little sleep in before heading off to Sally where I met up with Olivia, Kingsley and Emily. We sat out on the porch for a few hours before moving to the library to finish up our work. I had a pretty productive day, finishing the counterargument to my paper and getting a good start on my annotated bibliography! It was nice to have a little lunch break where we got to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. I also had a meeting with Heidi who helped me write my counterargument. Tomorrow I want to learn how to incorporate my in text citations into my paper.
